On the 20th of May 2020, a great air of sadness and disbelief was cast over the club with the news of the untimely death of our long serving Secretary Charlie Logan. Charlie was a native of Belfast who had settled in Arklow and was instrumental in the formation of the club and its affiliation to the Golfing Union of Ireland back in 2009. He was a tireless worker who unselfishly gave up his time to the smooth running of the club and he will be greatly missed.

He was also an active playing member who represented the club in numerous inter club competitions . He was a natural golfer who made golf look easy and won his fair share of competitions including last years Golfer of the Year.

The Breen family will always be indebted to Charlie’s support and friendship which we shared through the years and he will be fondly remembered with affection. In the near future we will hold a memorial cup in Charlie’s honour. Once again our deepest sympathy to Charlie’s wife Roisin, his children Cara and Matthew, his Mother Etta and brother Alan , May he rest in peace.
